We offer 2 new testings (mostly covered by insurances)
Pharmacogenomics is the study of how our genes affect our body’s responses to medication. A simple cheek swab test can determine whether one is taking the right medication according to your genes. It can determine whether one is a slow metabolizer, a normal metabolizer or a rapid metabolizer of a drug and which drug is best for you and which is dangerous and produces side effects.
Genetic Testing and Screening: this testing allows patients to determine if they have inherited a gene that increases their risk of developing certain diseases. This allows patients to become more informed about their health and make better lifestyle choices. Also they can be more vigilant about their possible diseases and seek earlier testing and possible earlier treatment and cure.
The more advanced Berkeley Heart Lab testing can study more extensive cardiac risk factors and allows patients to be informed about their cardiac risks and be more proactive in lifestyle changes and even medications.
Vitamin and Mineral Testing is recommended to patients to determine whether they lack or have too much vitamins and minerals or too little. This allows patients to individualize their intake.
Telomere Length Testing is important in longevity. The longer the telomeres which are the ends of the chromosomes, the longer one lives. The short telomeres which may signify shorter lifespan can be lenghtened with nutritional supplements.
Those tests may or not be covered by insurances depending on the insurance.
